1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using PlatePin ("Service") operated by Urban Systems Group LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Urban Systems Group LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company.

2. Description of Service

PlatePin is a community-powered platform enabling users to:

Subscribe to license plates to receive notifications about vehicle incidents
Submit reports about vehicles (vehicle issues, parking violations, accidents, etc.)
Report temporary parking restrictions (street cleaning, construction, events)
Verify vehicle ownership for enhanced features
Communicate with other users about vehicle-related matters
Access premium features through subscription plans

PlatePin is not affiliated with law enforcement or parking authorities. Reports are user-generated and should be independently verified for critical decisions.

3. Eligibility

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Users under 18 represent that they have parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

3.2 Account Requirements

To use PlatePin, you agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
Maintain and update your information as needed
Keep your password secure and confidential
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
Not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Permitted Uses

Reporting legitimate vehicle incidents you personally observe
Subscribing to plates for vehicles you have a legitimate interest in
Communicating respectfully with other users about vehicle matters
Using premium features according to your subscription tier

4.2 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent reports
Use PlatePin to stalk, harass, or threaten individuals
Subscribe to plates for the purpose of tracking individuals without consent
Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
Upload malicious content, malware, or harmful code
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures
Scrape, crawl, or automatically collect data from the Service
Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Interfere with or disrupt the Service for other users
Create multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions
Resell or redistribute access to the Service

4.3 Enforcement

Violation of these terms may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban at our sole discretion. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement.

5. Pricing and Fees

5.1 Free Tier

Free accounts include:

Up to 3 plate subscriptions
Unlimited report submissions
Basic notifications
Access to public reports

5.2 Premium Subscription (PlatePin Pro)

Monthly: $1.99/month
Annual: $14.99/year (save 37%)

Premium features include:

Unlimited plate subscriptions
Priority notifications
Ad-free experience
Weekly digest emails
Premium badge on profile
Early access to new features

5.3 Vehicle Verification

Single Vehicle: $0.99 (one-time)
Household (up to 4): $3.99 (one-time)
Fleet (5+): $9.99 (one-time)

Verification enables:

Ownership badge on reports
Ability to request report removal
Priority dispute resolution
Enhanced privacy controls for your vehicles

5.4 Credits

Credits may be used for one-time purchases like additional plate subscriptions or verification. Credits can be earned through promotions or purchased directly. Credits have no cash value and expire after 12 months.

6. Billing and Subscriptions

6.1 Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) for subscriptions, and Stripe for verification payments. By making a purchase, you agree to the respective payment processor's terms.

6.2 Subscription Terms

Subscriptions begin immediately upon purchase
Access to premium features remains until subscription end date
Price is charged to your payment method at confirmation

6.3 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can cancel anytime through:

iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > PlatePin
Android: Play Store > Subscriptions > PlatePin

6.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice. Price changes take effect at your next renewal. You may cancel if you do not agree to the new price.

6.5 Refunds

Subscriptions: Refund requests must be made through Apple or Google per their policies
Verification fees: Non-refundable once processing begins
Disputes: Contact support@platepin.com for billing issues

7. Vehicle Opt-Out

7.1 Free Opt-Out

Vehicle owners may opt their license plate out of PlatePin at no cost. This is a free service available to all vehicle owners regardless of whether they have a PlatePin account.

7.2 Opt-Out Process

In-app: Settings > Vehicle Privacy > Opt-Out
Email: legal@platepin.com with subject "Vehicle Opt-Out"
Verification may be required to prevent fraudulent opt-out requests

7.3 Effect of Opt-Out

Once opted out, reports about your vehicle will be hidden from public view within 48 hours. Existing subscribers will be notified that the plate has been opted out.

8. User Content

8.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit ("User Content"). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

8.2 Content Standards

User Content must not:

Be false, misleading, or fraudulent
Contain personal information about others without consent
Include hate speech, harassment, or threats
Contain sexually explicit or violent content
Infringe intellectual property rights
Violate any applicable law

8.3 Content Moderation

We use automated systems (AI) and human review to moderate content. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without notice. Moderation decisions are at our sole discretion.

8.4 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content. We do not verify the accuracy of reports and are not liable for false or misleading content submitted by users.

8.5 DMCA

If you believe content infringes your copyright, submit a DMCA notice to legal@platepin.com including:

Description of the copyrighted work
Location of the infringing content
Your contact information
Statement of good faith belief
Statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury
Your signature (electronic acceptable)

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using PlatePin, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

10.1 Service "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10.2 Information Accuracy

PlatePin does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of user-submitted reports. Reports are based on user observations and may contain errors. Always verify important information independently before taking action.

10.3 No Professional Advice

PlatePin does not provide legal, financial, parking, or professional advice. Reports should not be relied upon for legal proceedings, insurance claims, or official matters.

10.4 Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party content, privacy practices, or terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, URBAN SYSTEMS GROUP LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
Damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
Conduct or content of any third party on the Service
Any inaccurate, false, or misleading user-submitted reports

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CERTAIN DAMAGES. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Urban Systems Group LLC, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

Your use of the Service
Your User Content
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights
Your violation of any applicable law

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@platepin.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

13.2 Binding Arbitration

Any dispute not resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will be conducted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or via telephone/video at your election.

13.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS ONLY. You waive any right to participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of class proceeding.

13.4 Small Claims Exception

Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or your county of residence.

13.5 Opt-Out

You may opt out of arbitration and class action waiver by notifying us in writing within 30 days of accepting these Terms. Send opt-out notice to: legal@platepin.com with subject "Arbitration Opt-Out."

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. For claims not subject to arbitration, exclusive jurisdiction lies in the state and federal courts located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

15. Account Termination

15.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Privacy Dashboard > Delete Account, or by emailing support@platepin.com.

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you:

Violate these Terms
Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
Harass other users
Submit false reports
Circumvent security measures

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

Your license to use the Service immediately terminates
Your User Content may be deleted per our data retention policy
Certain provisions survive termination (see Section 20)
No refunds for prepaid subscription periods

16. Intellectual Property

16.1 Our IP

The Service, including its design, features, content (excluding User Content), trademarks, and technology, is owned by Urban Systems Group LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. "PlatePin" and our logo are registered trademarks.

16.2 License to You

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

16.3 Restrictions

You may not:

Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
Remove any proprietary notices or labels
Use our trademarks without prior written consent

17. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via:

Email to your registered address
In-app notification
Updated "Last Updated" date on this page

Continued use after 30 days notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

18. General Provisions

18.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Urban Systems Group LLC regarding the Service.

18.2 Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and remaining provisions continue in full force.

18.3 Waiver

Failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of future enforcement.

18.4 Assignment

You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may assign our rights to any affiliate or successor.

18.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, or government actions.

19. Special State Provisions

19.1 California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. See our Privacy Policy for details.

19.2 New Jersey Residents

Certain provisions may not apply to the extent prohibited by New Jersey law. The limitations in Sections 10 and 11 apply to the maximum extent permitted by NJ law.

20. Survival

The following sections survive termination: 8 (User Content), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), 13 (Dispute Resolution), 14 (Governing Law), 16 (Intellectual Property), and 20 (Survival).
